Our story
Atomic Smile began with a simple, stubborn belief: that no child should suffer from something as preventable as a toothache. Our founder, Vanessa C. Brooks, a Registered Dental Hygienist, spent years watching capable, curious kids held back — missing school, struggling to focus, hiding their smiles — because of dental problems that early care could have prevented.
Tooth decay is one of the most common — and most preventable — childhood conditions, yet it falls hardest on kids with the fewest resources. Atomic Smile partners with schools, clinics, and community groups to deliver playful, practical oral-health education, screenings, and hygiene supplies where they're needed most.
So we go where the need is greatest: into classrooms, community centers, and neighborhoods, partnering with local schools and clinics to make prevention joyful, practical, and within reach for every child.

A Registered Dental Hygienist, Vanessa founded Atomic Smile after years of seeing bright, capable kids held back by something entirely preventable — a toothache. She believes prevention is the most powerful medicine, and she leads Atomic Smile’s mission to bring hands-on dental hygiene and education to the children who need it most.
